Sir Bruce Forsyth dies at 89

Foreign Affairs Correspondent

He was the face of Saturday night television. His catchphrases, from ‘Nice to see you, to see you nice’ to ‘Didn’t he do well?’, were part of the national lexicon. Sir Bruce Forsyth has died at the age of 89. Colleagues immediately paid tribute to his warmth, his wit, his generosity and charm. He was, said the BBC director general, one of the greatest entertainers our country has ever known.
