Sir David Amess: MPs attend funeral service at Westminster Cathedral

A lifetime of devoted public service was remembered today in Westminster at a requiem mass to commemorate Sir David Amess, the MP who was killed in his Southend constituency last month.

A tribute from the Pope was heard by mourners from across the political spectrum, who gathered to say goodbye to a man described today as “the best example of what an MP should be”.
