Welcome to Dudinka in Siberia: the city covered in ice
If you’re dreading the icy weather in the UK, then take a look at Dudinka, in Siberia, where a burst water main at minus 40 degrees left cars and streets encased in ice.
The north Siberian town was left without power, heating and water amid temperatures of minus 40 last week.
According to the Siberian Times, high winds brought down power lines in Dudinka, in Krasnoyarsk Krai, prompting problems with electricity supplies.
Dudinka, which has a population of about 22,000, is now covered with giant icicles and a blanket of ice after its water main burst.
Although many homes were left without water and electricity, Dudinka residents have been posting images on Twitter with the hashtag ‘Dudinka is freezing.’
