SNP criticised for excluding journalists from leadership hustings

The SNP is being criticised for excluding journalists from its leadership race hustings. Media will be banned from a series of debates among the three candidates vying to take over from Nicola Sturgeon. Our Scotland correspondent Ciaran Jenkins is in Glasgow.

An SNP NEC spokesperson said: “We are in discussion with media outlets making a request for access to our members hustings event in Cumbernauld, and we’re already looking at ways to make content available to our wider membership for the remainder of this series of events.”
