South Korea air safety officials reviewing rules after deadly crash

Air safety officials in South Korea are reviewing rules around the positioning and construction of a concrete-topped mound at the site of the country’s worst-ever air disaster.

An operating manual for Muan Airport, published this year, recommended the embankment be moved further from the runway.

179 people were killed when the Jeju aeroplane crashed into the obstacle on Sunday morning.
