Starmer urges former Labour voters to return to fold in first conference speech as leader

There was none of the usual fanfare for Sir Keir Starmer’s first conference speech as Labour leader.

He delivered his keynote address to an empty room in Doncaster, setting out his vision for how the Labour Party should emerge from the shadows.

He spoke of a new beginning for the party under his leadership, urging voters who had deserted Labour to return to the fold. But has it convinced people in Doncaster?
