Steroids found to reduce risk of death in sickest coronavirus patients

A new study has shown that cheap and easily available steroids can cut the risk of death for seriously ill coronavirus patients by 20 per cent.

The research, coordinated by the WHO and undertaken by a team based at Bristol University, showed consistent benefits for patients who were ill enough to need oxygen or ventilator treatment in hospital.
