Storm Pia and Eurotunnel strike action disrupts Christmas getaway train services

Stormy weather and striking Eurotunnel staff are disrupting the Christmas getaway for tens of thousands of people.

Storm Pia has battered parts of the UK, bringing down trees and overhead power lines, hampering road and rail travel – including all trains from London’s Euston station.

This, as last-minute industrial action in France led to the suspension of Eurostar and Le Shuttle cross-Channel rail services.
