Student death inquest: Ed Farmer died from ‘toxic effects’ of alcohol

20 year-old Ed Farmer was a fresher at Newcastle University when he took part in an initiation event for the Agricultural Society.

A four day inquest, which concluded today, saw CCTV footage of the student so drunk he was unable to walk.

The coroner ruled that he died from the “toxic effects” of consuming excessive alcohol. Anja Popp reports from Newcastle.
