Sudan: 19 killed and more than 100 injured after shelling in Khartoum

International Editor

Nineteen people have been killed and 106 injured after a market in Khartoum was shelled using heavy artillery, according to the Sudanese Doctors Trade Union.

The fighting between rival military forces continues to turn the capital into a battlefield, as truce talks mediated by the US and Saudi Arabia collapsed yet again.

Without an end to the conflict in sight the White House has now announced they will impose sanctions against people “who are perpetuating the violence” in Sudan.
