Sunak committed to maintaining UK’s net zero climate target, says Tory MP

The Conservative leadership contest has highlighted the different approaches towards green policies – as well as the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

We spoke to Tory MP Craig Mackinlay, who chairs the Net Zero Scrutiny Group – they’re concerned about what they call “poorly-considered climate change policies”.

We were first joined by his Conservative colleague, Chris Skidmore, who chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Environment Group.

They’re warning the government not to water down its net zero targets.
