Sunak confronts Beijing after reports of Westminster Chinese spy arrest

Rishi Sunak has confronted the Chinese Premier over what he said was China’s “unacceptable” interference in British democracy.

He raised his concerns at the G20 summit, after news that a parliamentary researcher was arrested in March on suspicion of spying for Beijing.

The man had links with several senior Conservatives, including security minister Tom Tugendhat and foreign affairs committee chair Alicia Kearns.
