Sunken migrant boat displayed at Venice art exhibition

When the Barca Nostra sank off Italy drowning up to a thousand migrants in 2015, it marked the darkest moment in Europe’s continuing migrant crisis.

The boat is now on show at the Venice Biennale which opens on Saturday – one of the most prestigious and biggest art exhibitions in the world.
I went there to see what’s on offer and to explore whether the migrant boat is defensible art.
