Suspected Russian mercenaries arrested over attempt to destabilise Belarus

Russia has demanded an explanation after more than 30 suspected Russian mercenaries were arrested near the Belarussian capital Minsk.

But were the soldiers really planning to topple the regime of President Alexander Lukashenko, or is this just a diversionary tactic from the man known as Europe’s last dictator, ahead of elections next week?
