Takeaway plastics could be taxed

Should polystyrene takeaway boxes and other single-use plastic packaging be taxed? Charging people for using plastic bags has already dramatically slashed the number of those we throw away. In Wednesday’s budget the government says it will gather evidence on how more taxes could further reduce the amount we waste – saying we could fill a thousand Albert Halls each year with the the amount of plastics we throw away.
