Tata could halt Port Talbot operations early due to strike

Steel giant Tata is taking steps to cease operations at its Port Talbot plant by July 7.

That’s earlier than planned, because – the company says – of a strike by Unite that’s due to start on July 8th, in protest at Tata’s plans to shut down its blast furnaces.
