Tavistock gender identity clinic to be shut down

The only provider of gender identity services for young people in England is to be shut down and replaced with regional centres.

A report found that the Tavistock clinic was unable to cope with the number of referrals and warned that more complex healthcare needs can be overlooked once users are identified as having gender-related distress.
