Tennessee Democrats fight for seats after expulsion for ‘completely peaceful’ action

In Tennessee, there has been an outcry over two Democrats who were thrown out of the Republican-led state house of representatives last week for taking part in a protest in favour of stricter gun laws.

Both of the politicians are Black – and they claimed their expulsion was “openly racist”.

Now one of them may be reinstated.
