Tentative deal struck to end the Hollywood writers strike

So Hollywood writers may have got their happy ending – as a tentative deal was struck with studio bosses to end the longest running strike action for decades.

Members of the Writers Guild of America will now have to approve the deal – which President Biden said was a “testament to the power of collective bargaining”.

The action was sparked by concerns over compensation from streaming services and job security in the age of AI – as our Washington Correspondent Siobhan Kennedy reports.
