The new epicentre for coronavirus is Latin America where cases have been rising rapidly. But it is the region’s indigenous people who appear to be suffering the effects most severely.

Communities have little barrier to disease and cases are spreading rapidly into remote regions where there are fears some ethnic groups could be wiped out by the disease.
