The mothers skipping meals to feed their children

North of England Correspondent

Young mothers seeking to work and become financially independent are struggling against a background of low pay, zero hours contracts and benefit cuts, according to the charity The Young Women’s Trust. It has recently surveyed over 500 young mums and found that over one in four is skipping meals every day to provide for their children.

As part of our Breadline Britain series, we have been hearing from mothers who are going without and those trying to help.
