The guest list is out, the seating plan has been revealed but not everyone in Britain is proving keen to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

A host of celebrities, from Elton John to David Beckham, will be joining fellow Royals, politicians and service personnel at Westminster Abbey for Friday’s service.

But although more than five thousand street parties will be held – figures show they’re concentrated in the middle-class south – with none planned for Glasgow at all.

The guest list is out, the seating plan has been revealed but not everyone in Britain is proving keen to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

The bunting’s going up as people across most of the country get ready to celebrate William and Kate’s marriage on Friday.

But figures released today show something of a split across the country – with London and the South East apparently much more enthusiastic about the party mood than everyone else.

In the capital more than 800 roads are being closed for street parties. In the home counties excitement is high too – more than 200 in Surrey, almost 300 in Hertforshire. That contrasts with just 90 in Lancashire, a very low 30 in Scotland and a 156 in Wales.

A late surge in applications brought the total number of street parties planned to 5,500. But that still lags way behind previous royal events – there were 4,000 street parties in London alone for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977.

Also released today is the list of notable guests for the wedding: it includes Royals from around the world including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, large numbers from the military including the Prince’s unit in Anglesey and a few politicians, among the great and good from sport and charity and various celebs:
