‘There is no life’: More than a million working households to fall into fuel poverty as price cap increases tomorrow

With average energy bills set to rise a record 54 per cent from tomorrow – energy websites have been crashing as people rush to submit a meter reading before the deadline to avoid overcharging. 

There are warnings of grave consequences for households whether they’re in work or not – with one point two million working households expected to fall into fuel poverty, according to figures seen exclusively by this programme from the charity National Energy Action.

We visited a housing estate in the Highlands, where residents say they are struggling to cope.
