Thirlwall inquiry: how former nurse Lucy Letby’s murdered seven babies

North of England Correspondent

An inquiry has opened into how nurse Lucy Letby was able to murder seven babies and try to kill seven others at the Countess of Chester Hospital. It’s heard that a senior paediatrician’s warning that she should not have continued to have access to patients, wasn’t acted on.

Lady Thirlwall, who’s leading the inquiry, said she would not review Letby’s convictions, despite the growing “noise” over their validity.
