Thousands evacuated as wildfires wreak havoc across Tenerife

Some other news now and firefighters in the Canary Islands are battling to control the worst wildfire for decades – which is sweeping through the main resort island of Tenerife.

4,500 people have already been evacuated – rescue efforts hampered by the intense heat and dense clouds of smoke.

While in Canada – thousands of people have been scrambling to escape the advancing wildfires in the northern territories.
