Thousands left without power in wake of Storm Eunice

Tens of thousands of homes have been left without power in the wake of Storm Eunice as forecasters said more wet and windy weather could hamper efforts to restore supplies.

Winds of up to 70 miles an hour are predicted over the coming days, while many train services have been suspended after the storm caused major damage to parts of the rail network.
