Thousands of people cross Rio Grande to US from Mexico on Sunday night alone

Britain is not the only country where securing the border has become a huge political issue.

In America, during the covid pandemic an order was put in place blocking migrants seeking to enter the country at the US-Mexico border. Now that restriction is set to expire, and the number of migrants arriving in the border area is already going up.

As our Washington Correspondent Siobhan Kennedy reports, thousands of people crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico on Sunday night alone.
