One woman has died and 19 people are injured after a car ploughed into a group of counter-protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Governor of Virginia has declared a state of emergency in Charlottesville – as white supremacists clashed with anti-fascist protesters. Keme Nzerem’s report does contain some of those scenes of violence.

They disagree about what the movement stands for, and they don’t all share the same extreme views on race, religion and gender; but Britain’s young alt-right are united in believing that Western culture is under threat.
