With Easter weekend almost here, there’s no doubt that lots of us will be travelling over the next few days. Thankfully, whilst the weather is going to stay cold, disruption due to snow is unlikely.

The cold weather continues as Easter weekend approaches, but at least for now, the snow has eased. However, there is a chance that it could return at the end of the week.
This week, the UK is going to be the battle ground between winter and spring, with milder air sitting to the south west and colder air lurking to the north east.
Winter isn’t done with us just yet and there could well be some more snow on the horizon next week. Why is the weather so cold at the moment?

After another cold weekend with further snow across the UK, it looks like temperatures will rise this week as milder air moves in off the Atlantic.
In the coming days, a battle will be taking place over us between cold air to the east and mild air to the west, with the threat of widespread snow during Sunday into Monday.
The latest weather models all hint at the cold weather continuing into the middle of next week, with the possibility of more significant snow later this weekend.
Whilst not all places will see snow this week, there will be a drop in temperature, very strong winds giving significant wind chill, along with frost and ice – especially at night.
A burst of energy from the jet stream has brought mild, wet and windy weather to our shores this week. However, next week, the cold weather is set to return.

As the UK enters its second week of this wintry spell, there aren’t many places that haven’t seen any snow. But for how long is the wintry weather set to last?
