Travel chaos ‘inevitable’ as hundreds of Gatwick workers pledge strike action

If you were hoping to get away from the strikes by heading abroad – think again.

Almost a thousand workers at Gatwick Airport are to take industrial action at the start of the busy summer holidays, including check in staff and baggage handlers.

Members of the Unite union will stage two four day walkouts at the end of July and the beginning of August, warning that delays and cancellations to flights will be “inevitable”.
