Brilliant, fearless, one of the bravest of his generation: tributes have flooded in for the journalist George Alagiah, who’s died at the age of 67 after being diagnosed with bowel cancer nine years ago.

One of the BBC’s best-known broadcasters, he presented the News at Six for two decades, after an award winning career as a foreign correspondent.
