Trump assassination attempt suspect charged with gun crimes

This time round, Secret Service agents spotted and tackled the gunman before he got a chance to fire at Donald Trump.

But it’s just two months since the former president was injured in another assassination attempt. And mobile phone records show the suspect – Ryan Routh – was near Mr Trump’s Florida golf course for almost 12 hours before he was seen.

He’s already appeared in court, charged with gun crimes.
