Trump assassination attempt – what we know and what next

Donald Trump has urged Americans to “stand united” and remain “defiant in the face of wickedness” after the assassination attempt against him.

He escaped with just a minor injury to his ear, but one 50-year-old man was killed and another two people were critically wounded.

The attack is expected to inflame tensions further in an already bitterly divided country.
