4mTrump recognises Jerusalem as capital of Israel
“It is time.”
With those words, President Donald Trump confirmed the US is to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He called it a step towards peace.
However, it is feared that it will be quite the opposite – with warnings from Palestinians and many international leaders that the move would increase tension in the region. The US President has directed the State Department to begin preparations to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
