He backed away from a military strike on Iran at the last minute over its attack on a US drone, but now President Trump has imposed new economic sanctions. The increased pressure on Iran comes at the same time as the US asks for fresh negotiations. But Tehran doesn’t want to talk until sanctions lift, and it’s warned it will shoot down more drones if they violate its airspace.
