In Washington, a host of new politicians are just about to take their seats as Congress begins its 116th session, but the federal Government is still locked in a partial shutdown over Donald Trump’s demand for a wall along the US/Mexican border.
President Trump has invited leaders from both sides to discuss border security at the White House today, describing the country’s southern border as “like a sieve”.
