Never before has a US president challenged the integrity of a federal judge: yet this is Donald Trump, and the old rules no longer apply. The object of his fury?

An appeals court in San Francisco – which threw out his Government’s bid to reinstate the travel ban on people from seven mainly Muslim countries – including refugees. Hundreds of travellers from those countries have already been boarding flights to the US – but the legal battles won’t end here, as Siobhan Kennedy reports.
