Trump under fire after Saudi Arabia comments

President Trump has thanked Saudi Arabia for the slide in oil prices, amid an outcry over his failure to punish the country over the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Mr Trump tweeted that the price fall was “great”, adding “let’s go lower!”

Yesterday the President refused to cut US arms sales to Riyadh and dismissed intelligence reports that the Saudi Crown Prince must have known about the killing, despite his denials. And that’s caused consternation among leading Republican senators.
