Turkey earthquake: Race to rescue thousands from under the rubble

Chief Correspondent

More than seven thousand people are confirmed to have died across Syria and Turkey.

With around 10 million people living in the affected areas, and energy supplies cut off, freezing temperatures and a lack of medical supplies, the coming days will be very, very hard for people here.

The epicentre of the most powerful earthquake, which struck just after 4am local time yesterday was north of the city of Gaziantep, close to Turkey’s border with Syria.
