Turkey’s President Erdogan is headed for his – and his country’s – first presidential runoff vote.
After a tumultuous night which saw rival camps accusing each other of rushing to declare results – neither side got more than the 50 per cent required for overall victory.
Despite polls indicating opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu was narrowly ahead, Mr Erdogan proved he was still a formidable political force – and took the highest proportion of the vote.
