Turkey says Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was strangled 

The Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi was strangled as soon as he entered the consulate in Istanbul. That’s according to a Turkish prosecutor investigating the case.

Meanwhile senior US officials have put unprecedented pressure on Saudi Arabia to halt the bombing in Yemen. Theresa May has also called for a “de-escalation” of the fighting. She stopped short, though, of demanding a ceasefire. Please be warned: this report has some distressing images.
