Two-thirds of branded litter on UK beaches made by just 12 firms

The UK’s biggest co-ordinated clean-up event, with almost 4,000 volunteers picking up rubbish over 11,000 miles of coastline, has revealed something surprising about what’s clogging up our beaches.

Marine conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage say almost two thirds of all branded packaging pollution can be traced back to just 12 companies.
