Uganda’s pop star turned politician on his challenge for the presidency

Another democracy in a different kind of trouble. This time in Uganda.

He has been attacked, his supporters killed, imprisoned and abused, but Ugandan pop star turned Presidential candidate Bobi Wine remains in the race to unseat the country’s long serving leader, Yoweri Museveni, in Thursday’s general election.

Organised political rallies have been halted because of Covid-19 fears, but the candidates are still finding ways to make their voices heard.
