The number of positive tests for Covid-19 has risen to the highest daily total since February 26, potentially a bad sign for all those hoping for a full unlocking of restrictions come 21 June.
The latest government figures show that the number of new positive tests reported in the last 24 hours was 7,540, but the number of people who’d had their first dose of a vaccine is over 40,700,000. And over 28,500,000 people have now been fully vaccinated.
The prime minister acknowledged that the latest data posed a dilemma. So what can we read into this?
