UK economy expands by 0.1% in first quarter of 2023

Rail services have been crippled by striking train drivers again in England today and more walkouts are planned tomorrow.

Ongoing industrial action is being seen to have dented the UK economy in March.

Although the latest GDP figures for the first three months of 2023 show that the UK avoided recession, it is still at the bottom of the growth table of G7 nations.
