UK government expected to issue temporary visa scheme for foreign lorry drivers amid fuel shortages

So in what would be a major u-turn… the government is expected to outline a new temporary visa scheme to enable foreign lorry drivers to work in the UK.

In an attempt to tackle the acute shortage of HGV drivers which is already disrupting fuel and food deliveries around the country.

Long queues have been forming again at some petrol stations, despite appeals from ministers urging motorists not to panic buy.
