UK net migration hits record 906,000 in year to June 2023

It was already a record high, but revised figures show net migration actually peaked in 2023 at a quarter of a million more than first thought.

According to estimates, it then dropped by 20 percent this year.

Only a tiny fraction arrived on small boats – most coming legally, to study or work.
