UK ports asked to deny access to Russian vessels by Transport Secretary

The Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has written to all UK ports asking them to deny access to vessels linked to Russia – saying they were not welcome here.

One such vessel, the NS Champion, owned by a Russian state-controlled shipping company, Sovcomflot was scheduled to pick up a consignment of crude oil from Orkney at the Flotta oil terminal in Orkney tomorrow.
