UK quarantine hotels could be set up to combat Covid spread

Travellers arriving in Britain from coronavirus hotspots could be made to quarantine in designated hotels, to limit the spread of new variants of the virus.

Ministers are meeting this evening to discuss the proposals. They could be imposed on people flying in from parts of the world where virulent new strains have broken out, like Southern Africa and South America.
