UK troops ready to join NATO force in Kosovo as tensions rise

A battalion of UK troops is standing ready to join the NATO peacekeeping force in Kosovo, following rising tensions in the region. The US has called on neighbouring Serbia to pull back what it says is a large military build-up along the border, describing it as ‘very destabilising’.

Some 50,000 Serbs living in northern Kosovo do not recognise the government in Pristina.
